Kmovie: You are my pet (2011)

Rating: 3/6
I wish it had the depth of the drama-version :/

Plot: Eun-Yi is a editor for a fashion magazine, who doesn't get along well with her colleagues.
In-Ho(Jang Keun-Suk) is a dancer, who wishes to become a musical choreographer. He needs a place to stay, and Eun-Yis brother offers him to stay in her house. He pays the brother money for rent, but Eun-Yi is only told they would be staying temporarily. When the brother leaves, she wants to throw In-Ho out of the house, but he reminds her of a dog she used to have, and she lets him stay as a pet. And that's where the complications start.

I really liked the Japanese drama version of this, so when I heard there would be a korean movie version, I was thrilled. But when I finally saw the movie, it wasn't anything special.

Trailer:

In both versions, you have this kind of happy-go-lucky guy who is taken care of by a cold business-woman, and some romance stuff. The difference is the way it's done.

In this movie, they get closer, with complications and funny moments, but in the drama you also have things happening on the inside, like inner conflicts, uncertainties and sadness.
I know dramaseries have a great deal more time on their hands, so you
Picture from the Japanese drama
could expect there to be less depth in a movie, but you can still have time for characters in three dimentions. It just didn't seem real.

Maybe I just like more emo stuff, but i can't help it. It's bothering me><
I can't come up with a long list of other concrete negative things about it though, so if you want a light funny romance movie, this might be straight up your alley.
But with my subjective opinion, it was just not up mineXD
Jang Keun-Suk was much better than Matsumoto Jun though(who's kind of annoying), so that helped a bit >)

The movie can actually currently be found on youtube:

I don't know where else to find it though.. So when it's removed you might actually have to pay for it:O

But I recommend the Japanese one! ><..this fantrailer has spoilers though, and French subtitles, so watch out!

Kdrama: Full house(2004)

Rating: 3/6
Not awful, just really really annoying-.-

The writer Han Ji Eun is scammed by her friends. She "wins" a plane ticket, but then they take everything she owns while she is gone.
She then borrows money from famous actor Lee Young Jae to get back to Korea, and later finds out that he is the one her house was sold to.
They agree to enter a contract marriage to be married for one year. Han Ji Eun will after this get back her house, and it also solves a problem for Lee Young Jae.

Lee Young Jae is of course a childish and arrogant asshole, while Han Ji Eun is optimistic and slightly stupid.

To make the whole thing more dramatic, Lee Young Jae is in love with his childhood friend and Han Ji Eun is starting to get really close to his other childhood friend.
And this is mainly the part which pisses me off.

Because these four people are the exact type of idiots I can't stand in dramas.
Spoilt, indicisive, stubborn people who never notice anything unless it is told or written directly-.-

Of course I can tolerate a bit of struggle and rivalry in dramas. After all, it's kind of obligatory. But here it just goes back and forward without anything significant really happening besides some frustration.
And a bit too much at that.
Make up your mind and go with it ffs!

Well, with that out of the way, I guess it's not that bad of a drama. It is sometimes sweet or funny. So it's not like I feel my time was wasted, but it lacks a bit of spark, for all the annoyance it put me through.

If you're still interested, you can find it at youtube:

Or you could find it at dramacrazy:

Jmovie: Alien vs Ninja(2010)

Rating: 4/6

When I first watched the trailer of this one, I thought for sure it was a wannabe-scary-action-movie with a low budget and bad effects.
Therefore I was really surprised by its epicness!

As the title may suggest, the movie is about a bunch of ninjas fighting an alien invasion.
For me at least, that sounds pretty awesome.

Here's the trailer:

Ok, this trailer was a bit better than the one I watched. It looks less cheezy.
But my expectations weren't that high, so that may have affected my judgement a bit, because I love this movie!

It manages to be rediculous and cool at the same time.

You have bodyparts, guts, goo and blood flying everywhere.
You have total idiots among the characters.
You have.. lots of other wacky stuff I won't tell to spoil the surprise.
And you have awesome ninja moves, which can make just about anything cool.

As expected, swords and ninja-stars are of course also present, and those parts are done quite well to my unprofessional opinion.

I don't know what more there is to say.
So to mention some bad things:

Though I like just about everything untill and after, I really don't like the end of the final battle or whatever. It goes from being funny-rediculous to just bad-rediculous, and it's not that entertaining.

Also, some effects are maybe not top class.
You can sometimes see the alien being a man in a suit, and it kind of looks like a dinosaur, but they give it lots of extra features, so it's ok I guess.
I find the rest of the bad effects tolerable, and they were expected, so it's not so bad.
It could've been a lot worse.

So even though it has these few faults, I really liked the movie.
Just one part and a few bad effects are certainly not enough to ruin that impression.

Fake tattoo. How badass.
Whether or not you'll like it as well all depends on what you expect.
If you want a serious sci-fi alien movie of the American kind, this may not be the movie for you.
But laugh at the foolish stuff and do some "eeew" and "wow", and you surely will enjoy the movie as much as I did XD

Kdrama: Secret garden(2010)

Rating: 5/6
And so we have my recent addiction. I watched this series in three daysXD Really good^^

The drama is a love story, of course.
Kim Joo Won is an arrogant, childish and very rich CEO of a department store.
He meets Gil Ra Im, a poor but cool stuntwoman, and mistakes her for the actress she's doing stunts for. He tries stopping this actress from releasing a scandal, but doesn't know how she looks like. After this(the mistake is corrected) he starts falling in love with Gil Ra Im, even if she's not his type at all.

Kim Joo Won also has a cousin named Choi Woo Young, who is a famous pop star(Oska) and a total playboy. He has problems of his own, and Gil Ra Im is of course a huge fan.

Then, under mysterious circumstances, the two lovers switch bodies, and we get a whole new twist to the storyXD

I think I generally like dramas with arrogant childish guys like this(kinda like You're beautiful), and gender-benders are funXD So this is a kind of double jackpot I guess. But still, even though the ingredients are familiar, it wasn't all that easy to figure out what would happen next.

The plot is complex, as needed for long dramas to be entertaining. You have both the big stuff, the side stories, and the small witty incidents. All these blend together into the total story.
All the characters are also not total idiots, which is a plus for me.
Of course they don't do everything right, but you don't punch the screen screaming "No! you fucking idiot!" so much :D
..well maybe a couple of side actors have some brick-headedness, but not too annoyingly.

The actors are also good, the main actors are really good, and the way they play when having switched bodies is awesome! The personality change is so obvious you really notice it. The actor of Kim Joo Won(Hyun Bin) is maybe the most extreme of the two, it's such a totally different personXD
Of course hillareous scenes on both sides occur, as expected, but they are also able to play the serious scenes believably. (If you can use that word on a series with the gender bender element...)

I must say though, the music choice is really annoying-.- I know romance songs are to be expected, and I can tolerate not having my favorite music played all the time, but still... Is it necessary to play same chouruses through almost every big romance scene in all the 20 episodes? There are some of those songs I hope I never hear againXD

The only other negative part, other than some of the music, was how some of the dialoges didn't really make sense. I don't know if it was the translation, but a few of the quarrels had really bad arguments, and I couldn't really understand what they were fighting about at all. Sometimes they make a big deal of something they didn't seem to care about.. or something. I can't give actual examples without spoiling something, and if I try explaining something it sounds like normal drama-series stuff. It's just a few moments that raised some question marks and some "wat?", even upon seeing it again

That doesn't mean it's the case for every dialoge of the series though, and it doesn't ruin the series. The rest is still really good^^

I don't really have much more to say about this. Maybe I should practise some at finding points to write about... But it is a romance series, with its laughing parts, sweet parts, and sad parts. And I recommend it!

The drama can be watched on viki:

They also sub the text, and are sometimes better.

It can also be watched on youtube:

It may be easier to follow the subs here, because they don't dissappear as fast.

Here's a funny Big Bang parody of the series:

Jmovie: Battle league Horumo(2009)

ホルモー!

Rating: 5/6
Freshman Akira Abe(Yamada Takayuki) at Kyoto University falls in love with classmate Kyoko(Ashina Sei), and this makes him join a weird club Kyoto University Azure Dragons. Eventually, it turns out the club is actually a club that forms a team of oni(small spirits) to fight against other teams.
But everything doesn't go as planned, and the spirit gods(or something) are unpleased.

So you have the drama of love and friendship, the action of fighting with oni, and you fill it with some sillyness. You can tell just by looking at (some of) the characters, it's one of those moviesXD

Well, it's a good movie:D The characters are good, and the oni-fighting is also good, though you can see it is animated:P But I still feel the movie lacks the little extra something to take it from good to great.
It might be that the oni-fighting is kind of distanced from the movie, concentrating more on the people. Even though there are lots of oni, you don't really get... involved?
But it's not that big of a deal, and it doesn't ruin the movie or anything:P

I like it^^

Kmovie: I'm a cyborg, but that's OK(2006)

Rating: 6/6
Boy do I love movies about crazy people^^ Especially sweet quirky movies like this one.
The movie is about a girl, Young-goon, who believe she is a cyborg. Therefore she won't eat, and talks to electrical devices while wearing her grandmother's dentures. She is sent to a mental institution after almost killing herself in a attempt to recharge. There we have, among others, Il-soon, who after being left by his mother turned anti-social and steals stuff.

Apparantly I need to Koreanize more. Il-soon is played by Rain, which I guess is really famousXD I didn't notice:P Watch the movie if you want to see him yodelXD

He believe he can steal personal traits like habits or attitudes, and since he's in a mental institution, of course others will play along.. Young-goon still won't eat, and she asks him to steal her sympathy, so she can kill the doctors and nurses.

Gradually, Il-soon starts getting feelings for Young-goon, and so the story unfolds.

It is a really, really sweet story. Due to the seriousness of the stories of the mental patients(you get informed of the other patients as well), it also get's some depth, even if it isn't a sad story all in all.

A really nice movie^^

Shinsengumi Peacemaker / Peacemaker Kurogane

Here we meet the 15 year old Ichimura Tetsunosuke, who attempts to join the legendary samurais of the Shinsengumi togehter with his brother Tatsunosuke. In order to avenge their murdered parents.

Rating: 6/6

I personally adored this series. This is one of my favourite animes, and many might be kind of sceptic to it, but it didnt dissapoint me one bit. Very interessting plot, and it really had me google about the real shinsengumi when i finished it. To my very sumprise, every last one of the characters in this series have actually existedin real life. Even if its fantasy, it has extremly accurate facts from the persons in the real shinsengumi. Very well put togheter. Most writers only take the names and make up whatever plot that comes to mind. Credits to the peacemaker kurogane makers. Nice choise of cast, the actors really seemed to fit their character really well.

Well i really dont have anything to complain about this series. Maybe only the fact i didnt get to see my long awaited Susumu in drag. Would have been very fun to see his actor in woman clothes. Some people may have different opinions of this series, but i personally loved it. I had laugh myself to death, heart in my trouth, and some teary eye moment. I recommend it strongly, watch it one day if your bored or something. You will enjoy it.
If you didnt have any interessed in samurais before this, you most likely will after this. I most certanly had xD

Vampire host

In this series we meet the hot headed girl Rion in search for her lost friend. The only clue she got is a phone message from her saying something about a vampire. She finds a card in her friends handbag leading her to The host club Krankenhaus.

There she meets the big mouthed Suou, who she is convinced kidnapped her friend. Something Suou absolutly dont agree on. It dosent go long after before she actually finds out the hidden truth about Suou, that he infact is a true vampire. Its here that these two adventures starts togheter. They solve different cases togheter.

Rating: 5-/6

I got to say i really did like this series. It werent especially like the manga, in fact it were extremly little things it had in common. It might be a little minus, but that dosent stop it from being a good series. I almost laught myself half to death of that strange relationship between the two main characters. Even though it was drama in it, they still managed to keep it funny until the last episode. Who i personally didnt like, but im not going to give any spoilers. So no worries. They actually managed to find quite good actors for these two main persons, they managed to portrait and play their roles damn good. Who maid the series even more watchable. Well all persons all agree that bad actors the series turn bad automatically, right? Komukai Minako with her witty comments, and decision to torment Suou. Matsuda Satoshi with his funny expressions etc. and Andou Nozomi as the bitchy Reira (and yes she manages to play that God i want to kill her character extremly well) your bond to have a good time watching this series.

I personally got myself a new favourite vampire watching this^^

Back off Edward Cullen, theres a new vampire in town!

Symbol/Shinboru (2009)

Rating: 4/6
This is the weirdest movie I’ve seen in a long time. I came across the trailer sometime last year, so when I now know who Matsumoto Hitoshi is, thanks to my Downtown obsession, I had to see it when I found out it was available.

Basically, it’s like it seems in the trailer: A Japanese guy stuck in a room with walls full of angel penises. And every time he presses one, something happens. And of course he wants to get away from there.
You also have this side plot about a Mexican wrestler, with also a cursing nun involved, and that’s what the movie starts with.
Well, the funny thing is, in the end things make sense.
…sort of..
At least I think I understood the ending, but I guess there could be several interpretations.
Either way, suddenly it’s all “ahaaa, so that’s how it is”. And that’s when the movie gets good, and almost serious.
Almost.
Because the movie is a comedy, no doubt about that. And it is funny too. Matsumoto might not be a great actor, but he does it believably well as a weird guy stuck in a room.

The randomness is funny, I laughed, but it’s more “hehehe” than “HAHAHA!”, if you get what I mean. Maybe it was the wrestler-part which was kind of uninteresting. Maybe it’s just not my kind of humor. My guess is on the first alternative.
Still, I liked the ending, so I’ll give it a good rating just for that. The rest is good as well, but…something dragged it a bit, I just don’t know what it was.

Trailer:

The movie is not yet subtitled, as far as I know. So your language-knowledge will be put to a little test. It’s in Japanese, and Spanish with Japanese subs, but as the plot is simple, so are the lines. At least the Japanese ones, as he’s alone in a room.

"No laughing" Batsu Game

Rating: 6/6 Videos below..
“No laughing” Batsu game is an annual event started in 2003. The concept is: The members are subjected to comprimising, absurd, generally ridiculous situations for up to 24 hours. And everytime they are seen laughing at it, they are “out” and gets punished. So far on their ass, using a selected weapon(bamboo sword, dart needles, other hitting objects). The same weapon is used through the whole thing, and they laugh up to 200 times during the chosen period of time. You don't get to see it all though, as the show is edited down to a couple of hours.
Links below for where to watch.

The contestants are chosen among the guys from the Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende! reugular cast. Never heard of? Me neither, and you’ll be likely not to have seen others appearing on the batsu game, creating the fun. They are however celebrities in Japan, which a few times makes part of the joke. You don’t have to know them though, it’s funny anyway.

Cast of "Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!":

Matsumoto Hitoshi(松本人志)

Hamada Masatoshi(浜田雅功)

Yamasaki Hōsei(山崎邦正)

Endō Shōzō(遠藤章造)

Tanaka Naoki (田中直樹)

I have watched 4 "seasons" of these, and I’m totally addicted. It is hillareous and reeeally recommended.
…interesting how well you learn names when it’s called over a speaker before they get hit behindXD

These guys have other funny stuff as well(included other batsu games), which I also recommend checking out, but this stuff is what really got me started.
