Kmovie: You are my pet (2011)

Rating: 3/6
I wish it had the depth of the drama-version :/

Plot: Eun-Yi is a editor for a fashion magazine, who doesn't get along well with her colleagues.
In-Ho(Jang Keun-Suk) is a dancer, who wishes to become a musical choreographer. He needs a place to stay, and Eun-Yis brother offers him to stay in her house. He pays the brother money for rent, but Eun-Yi is only told they would be staying temporarily. When the brother leaves, she wants to throw In-Ho out of the house, but he reminds her of a dog she used to have, and she lets him stay as a pet. And that's where the complications start.

I really liked the Japanese drama version of this, so when I heard there would be a korean movie version, I was thrilled. But when I finally saw the movie, it wasn't anything special.

Trailer:

In both versions, you have this kind of happy-go-lucky guy who is taken care of by a cold business-woman, and some romance stuff. The difference is the way it's done.

In this movie, they get closer, with complications and funny moments, but in the drama you also have things happening on the inside, like inner conflicts, uncertainties and sadness.
I know dramaseries have a great deal more time on their hands, so you
Picture from the Japanese drama
could expect there to be less depth in a movie, but you can still have time for characters in three dimentions. It just didn't seem real.

Maybe I just like more emo stuff, but i can't help it. It's bothering me><
I can't come up with a long list of other concrete negative things about it though, so if you want a light funny romance movie, this might be straight up your alley.
But with my subjective opinion, it was just not up mineXD
Jang Keun-Suk was much better than Matsumoto Jun though(who's kind of annoying), so that helped a bit >)

The movie can actually currently be found on youtube:

I don't know where else to find it though.. So when it's removed you might actually have to pay for it:O

But I recommend the Japanese one! ><..this fantrailer has spoilers though, and French subtitles, so watch out!

Jdrama: Zenkai girl(2011)

Rating: 6/6

It's a loong time since I got really addicted to a Japanese drama(it's been mostly Korean lately), but this one actually had me hooked!

The story is about Ayukawa Wakaba(Aragaki Yui), who since she was little has worked hard to become a successful lawyer with lots of money and a rich husband. She gets a job at a big law firm, but is only given the task of babysitting the 5 year old daughter(Hinata) of her boss.
While doing this, she also meets a group of single fathers(among them Yamada Sota played by Nishikido Ryo) , and she starts questioning her current dream. At the same time, she also finds the kind of man she's been dreaming of the law firm, so what will she choose?

I guess what really makes much of the awesomeness in a drama like this is the characters.

Ayukawa is a strong-willed businesswoman who maybe focuses too much about her goals, while Yamada is a good guy who pushes his own goals too much aside. These two have major differences, and of course this creates some debate, as they challenge each others way of life.
Both are good actors, and especially Nishikido was better than I expected. Boyband members are not always chosen for roles based on their acting abilities, but he actually did really well!

And I love the kids! Ayukawa is babysitting the girl named Hinata, who is trying to act older and smart, and sometimes manages it. Yamada raises the boy Emitaro, who is the more typical sweet kid who in his innocence unknowingly has wise moments. They are really cute^^ and both have their own troubles, and sometimes give advice in their own way.

Not all of the others are super awesome though, both as characters and actors. The single fathers are obvious idiots, and some people are naive or overdone, but it's a drama, so that's how it's supposed to be.

Of course it's a quirky and awkward love story, but the whole environment with the situations and the goofy, sweet or allknowing cast members makes it really entertaining and good. You also wonder what comes next, like you should with a dramaseries, which is definitely a plus.
I don't really have anything more to say. It's awesome, watch it!

It's easy to find, for example at dailymotion:

Kdrama: Full house(2004)

Rating: 3/6
Not awful, just really really annoying-.-

The writer Han Ji Eun is scammed by her friends. She "wins" a plane ticket, but then they take everything she owns while she is gone.
She then borrows money from famous actor Lee Young Jae to get back to Korea, and later finds out that he is the one her house was sold to.
They agree to enter a contract marriage to be married for one year. Han Ji Eun will after this get back her house, and it also solves a problem for Lee Young Jae.

Lee Young Jae is of course a childish and arrogant asshole, while Han Ji Eun is optimistic and slightly stupid.

To make the whole thing more dramatic, Lee Young Jae is in love with his childhood friend and Han Ji Eun is starting to get really close to his other childhood friend.
And this is mainly the part which pisses me off.

Because these four people are the exact type of idiots I can't stand in dramas.
Spoilt, indicisive, stubborn people who never notice anything unless it is told or written directly-.-

Of course I can tolerate a bit of struggle and rivalry in dramas. After all, it's kind of obligatory. But here it just goes back and forward without anything significant really happening besides some frustration.
And a bit too much at that.
Make up your mind and go with it ffs!

Well, with that out of the way, I guess it's not that bad of a drama. It is sometimes sweet or funny. So it's not like I feel my time was wasted, but it lacks a bit of spark, for all the annoyance it put me through.

Kdrama: Secret garden(2010)

Rating: 5/6
And so we have my recent addiction. I watched this series in three daysXD Really good^^

The drama is a love story, of course.
Kim Joo Won is an arrogant, childish and very rich CEO of a department store.
He meets Gil Ra Im, a poor but cool stuntwoman, and mistakes her for the actress she's doing stunts for. He tries stopping this actress from releasing a scandal, but doesn't know how she looks like. After this(the mistake is corrected) he starts falling in love with Gil Ra Im, even if she's not his type at all.

Kim Joo Won also has a cousin named Choi Woo Young, who is a famous pop star(Oska) and a total playboy. He has problems of his own, and Gil Ra Im is of course a huge fan.

Then, under mysterious circumstances, the two lovers switch bodies, and we get a whole new twist to the storyXD

I think I generally like dramas with arrogant childish guys like this(kinda like You're beautiful), and gender-benders are funXD So this is a kind of double jackpot I guess. But still, even though the ingredients are familiar, it wasn't all that easy to figure out what would happen next.

The plot is complex, as needed for long dramas to be entertaining. You have both the big stuff, the side stories, and the small witty incidents. All these blend together into the total story.
All the characters are also not total idiots, which is a plus for me.
Of course they don't do everything right, but you don't punch the screen screaming "No! you fucking idiot!" so much :D
..well maybe a couple of side actors have some brick-headedness, but not too annoyingly.

The actors are also good, the main actors are really good, and the way they play when having switched bodies is awesome! The personality change is so obvious you really notice it. The actor of Kim Joo Won(Hyun Bin) is maybe the most extreme of the two, it's such a totally different personXD
Of course hillareous scenes on both sides occur, as expected, but they are also able to play the serious scenes believably. (If you can use that word on a series with the gender bender element...)

I must say though, the music choice is really annoying-.- I know romance songs are to be expected, and I can tolerate not having my favorite music played all the time, but still... Is it necessary to play same chouruses through almost every big romance scene in all the 20 episodes? There are some of those songs I hope I never hear againXD

The only other negative part, other than some of the music, was how some of the dialoges didn't really make sense. I don't know if it was the translation, but a few of the quarrels had really bad arguments, and I couldn't really understand what they were fighting about at all. Sometimes they make a big deal of something they didn't seem to care about.. or something. I can't give actual examples without spoiling something, and if I try explaining something it sounds like normal drama-series stuff. It's just a few moments that raised some question marks and some "wat?", even upon seeing it again

That doesn't mean it's the case for every dialoge of the series though, and it doesn't ruin the series. The rest is still really good^^

I don't really have much more to say about this. Maybe I should practise some at finding points to write about... But it is a romance series, with its laughing parts, sweet parts, and sad parts. And I recommend it!

The drama can be watched on viki:

They also sub the text, and are sometimes better.

It can also be watched on youtube:

It may be easier to follow the subs here, because they don't dissappear as fast.

Here's a funny Big Bang parody of the series:

Jmovie: Battle league Horumo(2009)

ホルモー!

Rating: 5/6
Freshman Akira Abe(Yamada Takayuki) at Kyoto University falls in love with classmate Kyoko(Ashina Sei), and this makes him join a weird club Kyoto University Azure Dragons. Eventually, it turns out the club is actually a club that forms a team of oni(small spirits) to fight against other teams.
But everything doesn't go as planned, and the spirit gods(or something) are unpleased.

So you have the drama of love and friendship, the action of fighting with oni, and you fill it with some sillyness. You can tell just by looking at (some of) the characters, it's one of those moviesXD

Well, it's a good movie:D The characters are good, and the oni-fighting is also good, though you can see it is animated:P But I still feel the movie lacks the little extra something to take it from good to great.
It might be that the oni-fighting is kind of distanced from the movie, concentrating more on the people. Even though there are lots of oni, you don't really get... involved?
But it's not that big of a deal, and it doesn't ruin the movie or anything:P

I like it^^

Kmovie: I'm a cyborg, but that's OK(2006)

Rating: 6/6
Boy do I love movies about crazy people^^ Especially sweet quirky movies like this one.
The movie is about a girl, Young-goon, who believe she is a cyborg. Therefore she won't eat, and talks to electrical devices while wearing her grandmother's dentures. She is sent to a mental institution after almost killing herself in a attempt to recharge. There we have, among others, Il-soon, who after being left by his mother turned anti-social and steals stuff.

Apparantly I need to Koreanize more. Il-soon is played by Rain, which I guess is really famousXD I didn't notice:P Watch the movie if you want to see him yodelXD

He believe he can steal personal traits like habits or attitudes, and since he's in a mental institution, of course others will play along.. Young-goon still won't eat, and she asks him to steal her sympathy, so she can kill the doctors and nurses.

Gradually, Il-soon starts getting feelings for Young-goon, and so the story unfolds.

It is a really, really sweet story. Due to the seriousness of the stories of the mental patients(you get informed of the other patients as well), it also get's some depth, even if it isn't a sad story all in all.

A really nice movie^^

Movie: Gangster Lover(2010)

Another day, another movie, even if I should be doing school workXD
Rating: 6/6
This movie is just soo sweet^^
The movie is about a gangster who's bad at fighting and a girl who's having a hard time finding a job. They become neighbours, and the drama starts:)

The movie is well made for my tastes. The characters are realistic(I don't know how gangsters are in real life of course, but I found the personalities believable), the plot is well made, and everything is just right. You get some humor, without loosing the focus, and the drama without it being to sappy. Just... sweet^^ Kind of dark at times though, but it's good.
Really recommended

Vampire host

In this series we meet the hot headed girl Rion in search for her lost friend. The only clue she got is a phone message from her saying something about a vampire. She finds a card in her friends handbag leading her to The host club Krankenhaus.

There she meets the big mouthed Suou, who she is convinced kidnapped her friend. Something Suou absolutly dont agree on. It dosent go long after before she actually finds out the hidden truth about Suou, that he infact is a true vampire. Its here that these two adventures starts togheter. They solve different cases togheter.

Rating: 5-/6

I got to say i really did like this series. It werent especially like the manga, in fact it were extremly little things it had in common. It might be a little minus, but that dosent stop it from being a good series. I almost laught myself half to death of that strange relationship between the two main characters. Even though it was drama in it, they still managed to keep it funny until the last episode. Who i personally didnt like, but im not going to give any spoilers. So no worries. They actually managed to find quite good actors for these two main persons, they managed to portrait and play their roles damn good. Who maid the series even more watchable. Well all persons all agree that bad actors the series turn bad automatically, right? Komukai Minako with her witty comments, and decision to torment Suou. Matsuda Satoshi with his funny expressions etc. and Andou Nozomi as the bitchy Reira (and yes she manages to play that God i want to kill her character extremly well) your bond to have a good time watching this series.

I personally got myself a new favourite vampire watching this^^

Back off Edward Cullen, theres a new vampire in town!

Nana the movie(2005)

Rating: 4-/6

For such a famous movie, I expected a bit more. This movie is about two women, both 20 years old and named Nana. They meet on the train when going to Tokyo, and by another coincidence ends up living with each other. The thing is, the two are really different in just about anything.

I never really fell for the nana manga, even though I tried reading some of it, and I get about the same feeling here. It’s got some interesting parts, but the rest almost gives me a feeling of… indifference? The good feelings of the manga was there as well though. If you liked the manga I think you’ll like this one too^^

I don’t know what to say about the acting and all. Seeing Kenichi Matsuyama, Ryuhei Matsuda AND Hiroki Narimiya should make me thrilled while watching any movie, but it still didn’t really catch me.

I guess it’s kind of too subtle for my taste, or that the plot is too predictable or something. It’s kind of hard to tell.

But it wasn’t all bad, even if I’ve only written negative opinions till nowXD If one were to sum the movie up, I actually liked it, but the stuff that filled it in between dragged it down. I liked bits and pieces of it, as some romance parts, friendship parts and life parts. Not all of these were good, but I liked the stuff that made me care. I just sat through the rest. I loved how it at least looked like it was the actor singing during concerts. I think it was her^^

There was enough of the good parts though to make me kind of interested in watching the second movie. So I guess it wasn’t all that bad. But still, I don’t think I’ll watch it again.

Korean movie: Flying boys(2004)

Rating: 6/6

This is such a real movie, in a “life sucks” kind of way.
It’s a movie about three guys and a girl, all 20 years old, entering ballet classes. The girl is there because her mother wants her to be more feminine. The guys are there because one of them is blackmailed for drunk driving without a license. I thought this’d be another “if you are great at (insert sport here), you will succeed in life” movie, but there’s not really a lot of ballet in it. It’s more in the background as an independent process.

There is romance here too, but it's just one of more subjects.

Like in real life, everyone here has their problems. In some cases their problems are big too. But still, even if they’re deep in shit, they don’t seem to be drowning in it, as in some more tragic movies. I don’t know if it’s just me being in an optimistic mindset, but the movie mostly states the problems like a fact. And rather than dwelling in eternal misery, the characters work to solve whatever their struggling with. And doing so in a realistic way, without the overdone “gambare!” spirit.

The characters are well done. They have feelings, they aren’t idiots, and they even evolve a tiny bit as the story goes. The main character is kind of a middle-man. He’s not really very special in any way, so it’s a guy most people can relate to. Though, I guess this goes for a lot of movies. The actors are picked wisely, and match their characters. I’m really bad at Korean actors for some reason, so I didn't recognize any of them thoughXD But one of them looked like that guy from King and the clown:O

Anyway, really great movie. I loved it so much I think it’s worth using the money buying it, maybe to watch when feeling blue. Really recommended^^

I can't find a trailer?! WTF?

Down with love

Rating: 4/6

Xiang Yu Ping, an expert divorce and inheritance lawyer, is seen by others as cold, selfish and ruthless. After Yu Pings brother dies in an car accident he has little choice in taking in his brothers two orphange children Fei and Ting. Every nanny he hires to take care of them is either scared of by the mischievious children, or ends up falling in love with him.

Fed up, Yu Ping asks his secretary, Yang Duo, to find a nanny that meets his requirements.

Having lost all their wealth when their mother passed away and being abandoned by their father after racking up heavy debts; Yang Duo can not ignore the fact that she needs the money and reccomends her younger sister, Yang Gou; for the job assouring Yu Ping that her tomboyish sister will not fall in love with him by lying that she doesnt like men at all.

Cant actually give that long of a reccomendation since i only seen the first episode. But i got to say i love the consept girl pretending to be lesbian to get a job with a rich and handsome man, and most likely ends up falling for him.

I got a good feeling about this series, i mean isnt you laughing damn so hard already in the first episode a good sign?

Got high expectations of the actors. Jerry Yan who got some good history in playing rich bastards, and Ella Chen in the tomboyish role we love to see her in. Just hope they dont dissapoint me.

The ratings maybe will go a bit higher after ive seen a couple of episodes. Just have to wait and see.

April bride

Rating: 6/6

This movie is about the true story of a woman afflicted with breast cancer and her husband who never leaves her side, even though he knows hes going to loose her sooner than he want to.

A sweet story who will sonner or later in the movie make you tairy eyed.

Dont know about you guys but in between all the awwing etc. i was wishing myself a guys like Taro to take care of me.

I really dont have any complains about this movie. I think the creators captured the story of Chie and Taro pretty well.

As well did the two actors playing the two of them. Before this movie i havent heared of either of them, but was quite surprised over their good acting. They matched up pretty well and actually gave you the impression that they really did love each other.

The movie really made a deep impact on me. I got the feeling of wanting to go out and do something big with my life, be togheter with all i love. Just living to the fullest, and never be afraid to tell the people you care about that you love them, because youll never know when actually all of this will end. You can be dead tomorrow for all you know.

I reccomend this movie for all you tearjerking lovers. This is really good one, thats all i got to say.

Trailer:

Gegege no Kitaro

Rating: 6/6

Movie 1: Kitaro is a half human, half-yokai who lived in a tree house with other yokai (monsters).

When a series of events leads to his friends KEnto coming into possession of a powerful glowing stone that belongs to the Fox spirits he and his yokai friends must keep the stone out of the wrong hands to save the human race from destruction.

2. Half- yokai Kitaro returns with his friends to investigate recent disapperances accurring under suspicious circumstances. They discover that they have something to do with a forbidden love which was shared between a yokai and a human male approximately 1000 years earlier and an evil yokai is responsible. Kitaro and his companions must seek out 5 treasures to put an end to this millennium curse once for all.

I seriously fell in love with this movies the first time i watched them. They contained all the ingredience to make a perfect movie. A bit of actions, some liters of education, a small hint of romance, a good dose of humour, and some fantasy to top it with, bake it in the dvd player for about 2 hours and in a blink of an eye you have the most unforgetable movie adventures ever.

They quickly captured the top of my favourite movie list.

The movie contains a very good plot, and if you want to learn more about japanese mythology this movie is perfect for you. Since almost 90 % of the charactears are from japanese mythology.

The costumes made for them are incredebly well made, but some of them you can clearly see their just plain plastic. Else they were just splendid, and i still got a problem figuring out if that other "baba" in the secuel movie is a man or a woman playing. Help anyone?^^

Good actors in both of the movies, they all did a very good job in portraing their charactears.

Which i can almost garantee you that you will have at least one favourite charactear at the end of the movies. Personally mine is Kitaro. I didnt quite have anything for Eiji Wentz, but after watching these movies i got to admit i had somekind of school girl crush on him.

Anyway, this movie is definitly worth a watch. Higly reccomend it.

If you like it you got one whole anime series to watch, and manga to read which also exist along with the movies. Which i havent done myself yet, but sooner or later i hopefully will.

By the way got to give you guys a warning. It might just be me having a terrible humour, but watch out for Mr. Ratman. Allmost peed my pants i laughed so hard watching all of his crazyness.

Series recommendation: Densha Otoko

Synopsis:
A true love story turned to bestselling novel, created from the Internet BBS, 2channel to blockbuster hit movie. Ito Misaki plays Aoyama Saori, working as an office lady at a MNC, gets into trouble with a drunkard on a train. She's saved by Yamada Tsuyoshi, played by Ito Atsushi As a form of appreciation, she sends him Hermes teacups. Having no experience with the opposite sex, Tsuyoshi decides to ask for help on the Aladdin Channel BBS on how to interact with Saori.

Rating: 6/6

Recommendation:
I don’t know about you, but when I first read this plot I thought it seemed incredibly boring. However, after stumbling across it and hearing it mentioned an unknown number of times online, I decided to give it a go. I loved it and was hooked already at the first episode. We follow the romance of Tsuyoshi and Saori, but that’s not the reason to watch it.

You could say what I like about the series is the internet-conversations. The series is kind of made through the eyes of the people at the forums, in that much of the information given is heard as Tsuyoshi telling the forum. That way, you get the feeling of being one of those people reading the forum. The forum is full of reeeally strange people, and I think the somewhat crazy reactions of others help increase your own. That might be part of why the series is so incredibly awesome. There’s also not just the usual animegeeks, but all kinds of geeks. And Oguri Shun, for those crazy fangirls out there.

The only thing I didn’t like was Ito Misaki. She plays the pretty and kind Saori, but judging from my nausea, it might be a bit overdone. Ito Atsushi on the other hand, is really great in his part as Tsuyoshi. I like how he really looks like a nerd, not just some pretty actor with glasses. His facial expressions are priceless, and sometimes creepy…

It’s cute, it’s silly, it’s charming, it’s funny, and it’s really engaging. I swear, before I was finished, I was all “kitaaaa!” at every upturn, even if I hadn’t really heard that expression much before.
This series is a must watch, even if you’re not a geek. You’ll kind of wish you were one anyway.

I even cried at the end. Not because it was sad, but because it was over.
